Food Ministry

Picture
The objective of this vibrant outreach program is to reach those in our community who are food insecure, which might mean a need for the food that nourishes the body, the food that provides for well being, or the food that nourishes the Spirit.

Friendship Meals
***PLEASE NOTE THAT THE FRIENDSHIP MEAL PROGRAM HAS BEEN TEMPORARILY SUSPENDED DUE TO COVID-19. THIS SUSPENSION INCLUDES THE BREAKFAST GIVE-AWAY AND FRIENDSHIP FREEZER PROGRAMS***
The congregation welcomes the community to join us for a free meal that is usually held on the third Sunday of the month between 5 PM and 7 PM in Fellowship Hall in the church.  Both the date and time may vary to coordinate with other church activities.  A balanced, nutritious meal is promoted through fliers, invitations, and online.

Breakfast Give-away
At each monthly Friendship Meal, guests may pack and carry out a number of nutritious breakfast items.

Friendship Freezer
Members donate meals that can be frozen and stored in the freezer in the church kitchen.  These meals have the ingredients and the date frozen attached.  A book listing the frozen meals is located on top of the freezer.  Anyone can add a meal at any time.  Just list the ingredients on the container, and list the meal and date in the book.  These freezer meals are available to any member of the church, families, or friends going through unsettling times.
